Yuzhe Geng Performs at Carnegie Hall with Colby Chamber Choir and String Quartet

2015 Mar 23

Yuzhe Geng, a member of the Class of 2017, was one of 23 Colby students who performed in Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall Monday, March 9. It was the only ensemble on the bill.

The Colby Chamber Choir, together with the Colby String Quartet, made their Weill Recital Hall debut in a concert of music by living composers and composers of the 20th century. The first half of the concert featured compositions addressing the complexities of the human experience, while the second half addressed experiences of the soul and the beyond.

"It was fantastic," said Colby Choral Director Nicolas Alberto Dosman. "There were people in the balconies, the audience was warm, and the students did a Carnegie-worthy performance. ... They did a great job."

Geng, a economics-financial markets and mathematical science-statistics major, is the son of Xiangqian Geng and Fengqin Cao of Beijing, China, and attended Beijing No.8 Middle School.
