Marnay C. Avant of Colby College Named to Highly Selective Dean's List

Marnay C. Avant of Saint Louis, Mo., was recently named to the highly selective Dean's List at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Avant is one of 469 Colby students -- or 24 percent of the qualified student body -- to qualify for the Dean's List last semester.

Avant, a member of the Class of 2018, attended Metro Academic/Classical HS and is the daughter of Tiffany Lathern of Saint Louis, Mo. Avant earned a semester grade point average of 3.77 or higher last fall to be included on Colby's highly selective Dean's List. She majored in sociology and African-American studies.
