Adrienne Carmack of Veazie, Elected to Phi Beta Kappa at Colby College

Adrienne Carmack of Veazie, a member of Colby's Class of 2018, was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa this spring. Membership in the society is one of the highest academic honors an undergraduate student can achieve.

Carmack, who is majoring in educational studies with a human development concentration and women's, gender, and sexuality studies, was one of 49 students inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Colby. A graduate of John Bapst Memorial High School, she is the daughter of David and Adrienne Carmack of Veazie, Maine.

The Phi Beta Kappa society, founded in 1776, restricts its chapters to leading colleges and universities. The Beta Chapter of Maine was organized at Colby in 1895.
